How to import servers to Egypt: ACI/Nafeza, VAT and delivery

Egypt has one rule that catches first-timers: the shipment must be pre-registered on the Nafeza single window and get an ACID number before it ships. Get that right and the rest is routine. Here is the tax picture and the route from Hangzhou to Cairo.

ACI (Nafeza), VAT and registration

Egypt runs an Advance Cargo Information (ACI) system through the Nafeza single window. The shipment must be pre-registered and issued an ACID number before it leaves China, with documents submitted through the CargoX platform. A shipment without an ACID is turned away at the border.

On import you pay 14% VAT plus a customs duty that depends on the classification. The importer must be registered (GOEIC / importers register) to bring in regulated goods. We prepare the documents the ACI filing needs and coordinate with your agent.

  • ACI / ACID number via Nafeza, issued before the goods ship.
  • VAT 14% + customs duty at import.
  • Importer registration (GOEIC) for regulated goods.

Delivery and clearance

We ship every server by air. Your forwarder flies the shipment to Egypt and delivers it to your site, and door-to-door delivery takes 1–2 weeks.

Clearance goes through Egyptian Customs against the ACI registration. Your forwarder files the declaration and settles VAT and duty on DAP/DDP terms.

The import flow, step by step

We sell EXW Hangzhou. For first-time importers we help appoint a forwarder who registers the ACI, books the air freight, exports from China, clears Egyptian Customs, and delivers to Cairo or Alexandria.

Because the ACID must precede shipment, we prepare the paperwork early. You see the landed cost, including VAT and duty, before anything ships.

  • Send your spec. We reply within 1 hour during business hours (Mon–Fri 09:00–19:00 Beijing time, UTC+8) with an EXW Hangzhou quote.
  • We assemble, burn-in 24–72 h, and prepare export documents for ACI.
  • ACID registered on Nafeza before the goods ship.
  • Forwarder flies the shipment to Egypt, clears customs, delivers DAP/DDP.

Frequently asked questions

What is ACI / Nafeza and do I need it?

ACI (Advance Cargo Information) is Egypt’s pre-shipment cargo registration on the Nafeza single window. The shipment must get an ACID number before it leaves China, or customs refuses it. We prepare the documents and coordinate the filing with your agent.

How much are duty and VAT on servers in Egypt?

Expect 14% VAT plus a customs duty that depends on classification. We quote the equipment landed cost and your forwarder confirms the exact charges at clearance.

How long does shipping from China to Egypt take?

We ship every server by air, and the forwarder delivers door to door in 1–2 weeks once the ACID is in place.
