How to import servers to Brazil: taxes, RADAR and delivery

Brazil is paperwork and a high tax load, not a mystery. With RADAR, the right NCM and a despachante, importing servers from China is routine. Here is the picture and the route from Hangzhou to São Paulo.

Taxes, RADAR and Siscomex

The tax load is the main point: Import Duty (II, around 16% on server hardware), IPI, PIS/COFINS and state ICMS (about 17–18%) stack up, so the effective load often exceeds 40% of value. You need RADAR clearance in Siscomex and the correct NCM code; in practice a licensed despachante runs the process.

  • II ~16% + IPI + PIS/COFINS + state ICMS (~17–18%).
  • RADAR habilitation and Siscomex; correct NCM; despachante.

Delivery and clearance

We sell EXW Hangzhou and ship every server by air. Your forwarder flies the shipment to Brazil and delivers door to door in 1–2 weeks, while your despachante files the DI and settles the taxes on DAP/DDP terms.

Frequently asked questions

What is the tax load importing servers to Brazil?

II (~16%), IPI, PIS/COFINS and state ICMS (~17–18%) stack, so the effective load often exceeds 40%. We quote the equipment cost and the despachante confirms the exact taxes at clearance.

Do I need RADAR?

Yes. RADAR habilitation in Siscomex is required to import; a despachante runs it. We provide the commercial documentation needed.
